Project: Abel Tasman Village
Scope of works:
Stage IA (1-0425) 2011 – completed Feb 2012. Upgrade of units (fire damaged) single storey unit to two (2) high dependancy units and the construction of new external disabled compliant (as. 1428.1) pathways and handrails to 12 off single storey units, including 5 additional external doors req for access.
Stage 3 (1-0683) Dec 2012 – completed Mar 2013
Upgrade to single storey units 1 and 6 (similar to units) to two (2 ) high dependancy units including access pathways.
Village is aged care village catering for high & low care and dementia patient/residents. 60 odd existing residents and age of 85 years.
No disruption of existing facility & maintain access residents to the driveway & the accommodations at all times.
How the constraint was overcome
Full time foreman at site to manage liaison with village staff & control all removals of materials from site, rubbish bin placement & removal, plant access, material deliveries and labour supervision.
Stage IA was successful for both the village & MDF Group. Units prototype was completed to a high standard. ATV negotiated the upgrades to units 1 & 6 with MDF Group based on the result obtained with unit 5.
